Latest Illustration. It's a long story. The idea is about animals out of context. I had recently become inspired by the watercolors of Walton Ford, so I decided to try and emulate the style somewhat; he even uses triptych, and polyptych setups for his paintings sometimes. The Great Blue Heron is my favorite bird and also was much loved by my Dad, who passed away, so I feel like the piece for me symbolizes a kind of communion with something that is no longer here physically. A spirit which is represented within the animal. That's the best explanation I have for it.
