This is the final version of a project that was supposed to be about perception vs. reality.  This turned out to be more about dreams I think.  I put a rough version of this up on the blog earlier.  Not too much has changed except I think the color scheme of the final turned out quite different than the rough.  The rough was Completely digital except for the line work.  The final is completely traditional.  The patterns are all cut paper.  This piece was fun to do and I like the style.  I'll probably try more like this in the future.

This piece was fun to make.  It's a pencil drawing filled in with a combination of watercolor and stamp patterns.

This was an interesting project.  I wasn't really sure how it would come out, but I think in the end I came out with something that I like.

This piece was supposed to represent "Explosion".  I'm not sure how well it does that but I think it's interesting at least.  I love using different mixes of media and methods to create something.  This involved using different pencils and cutting things out.  I also like the juxtaposition between more organic shapes and very rigid shapes that I used here.

Another transformation exercise.

This is an oil painting I've been working on.  One of my first using the medium.  It's going to eventually be covered over in color but this is the grisaille phase of the piece.  I'll post the color as soon as I'm finished with it.  I'm definitely liking the smoothness of oils.

The Drawing was done for a class exercise in transformation, turning something into something else.  I liked the drawing so I decided to translate it onto a linoleum plate and print it.  I'm really happy with the outcome.  Definitely going to do more linocut in the future.
