Panagiotis Kone, from the Greece World Cup team.  Also plays for Bolonga.  Greece didn't win the match against Colombia so I'll make up for doing a drawing from the losing team by doing some drawings of someone from the Colombian team, and of course Ochoa from the Mexican team!

Some days it feels like I work in a vacuum where I do all this work and then send it out into the ether never to be seen again.  It will be seen eventually but I have to wait for Bloomberg to expand the website to fit more people, which will probably be sometime this summer.  Anyway, this is what I did this past week.  Seven is actually quite a lot to get done in a week. I've included a close up of the rare woman Billionaire, there's usually only about 1 for every 20 men.  This time it's Rosana de Camargo Arruda Botelho of Brazil.

Just a little silly thing  for the start of the warm season...  I do love a great big ice cream cone.

This is an excerpt from from one of my favorite poems, "I Have Daughters and I Have Sons" by Robert Bly.  Perhaps I hope this is a sentiment that my parents have felt about me.  I've always wanted to make a visual piece using this quote so I created this piece really quickly.  The entire poem is really beautiful and can be viewed here.

Work in progress....
I've been meaning to turn this drawing into some kind of final illustration for years.  2014 = getting around to it.

Sketches from the Society of Illustrators last Thursday night.  It was Boxing night!  Loved drawing these guys, they really looked the part.  We started off with short poses (about 2 min) and moved on to longer ones, though I don't think we did any longer than 10 or 15 min.  I worked on the drawings a little bit during the breaks, and after the session too.  Someone next to me said something like "what's up with all these short poses?  Why are we doing this?"  I didn't say this but I was thinking, because if you can't draw something well in 2 min you aren't going to draw it well in 20.  Short poses are so important for warming up, and loosening up.

Took some time last week and colored this piece in.  It's an etching but the color was done digitally with Photoshop.  I have several prints of this piece so maybe one of these days I'll go and color one in with actual watercolors.

Drawings from the Society of Illustrators last night!  I lugged all this paper, and paint and ink on the subway with me but in the end arrived late and just stuck to two pen colors and my moleskin sketchbook.

These are two different etchings I did a couple months ago. One is zinc and the other was drypoint, done on plexiglass.  The bottom one is a portrayal of all of the characters in Shakespeare's The Tempest.
