Recently learned how to do lithograph printing and I'm really loving it. There's more where these came from. I'll post them soon. I printed all my own photographs, and I love how it adds something extra to a photo that I already liked in the first place. Now I really want to get a press sometime in the near-ish future.

Last Thursday I participated in a Juried fashion drawing session through a meet up group. The clothes were provided by a boutique. The artist who's drawings the boutique liked the best are going to get a chance to be put on display at the boutique. I figured even if mine didn't get picked it was a good opportunity to draw. I had a hard time in the beggining and didn't really hit a stride until the last couple drawings. I was trying different things and had a bit of a hard time deciding what to do about color. I've posted the drawings here more or less in chronological order so you can sort of see the progression. You can see i eventually gave up on color... I told myself I would add it later, but didn't. It could easily still be added, either digitally or traditionally, so maybe I will. I would like to develop a fashion illustration portfolio but I think I'm still searching out a comfortable style.

Some graphic design work I did for a friend's production of The Glory of Living by Rebecca Gilman. The performance I went to was really really very well done as well. It ran back in Aug so unfortunately you can't go and see it. Glad to have been a part of the project in some way. I did postcard, sticker, and two different size poster designs.

This was my entry for an open call to artists that the Department of Transportation of the City of New York had. The idea was to come up with a design to decorate traffic barriers, you know those ugly cement things that separate a construction zone from traffic or traffic from a sidewalk. This was my entry. It wasn't chosen, but I don't regret putting the time into the design. Executing a mural is definitely something I would like to do one of these days.

This is what I did at the Society of Illustrators last night. I was worried I'd be rusty because I really haven't drawn that much since I graduated, but everything felt pretty natural, and I had a lot of fun drawing the models. It's much easier, I think, to draw big voluptuous women than it is to draw skinny ones... You can see which model I focused on. She was very amazing and beautiful to draw.

I have a big love for the short lived WPA Federal Theatre Project that happened during the depression in the 1930's. I took 3 plays that were produced by the project and came up with poster designs for each. The finishes were done digitally but I tried to give them a hand printed look. I'm pretty happy with them. It was a very fast project and I did all three finishes in about 4 hours.
