A friend of mine who is at Parsons for Graphic design asked me to do these simple line portraits for his thesis project.  They are from a photo essay about homeless LGBTQ youth in NYC.  The essay is on the website of the Ali Forney Center where my friend has been volunteering.  As soon as I get a sample of the printed thesis project I will share it.

My version of the Dowager Countess from Downton Abbey as portrayed by the amazing Maggie Smith.  This was supposed to be a caricature but really is just kind of an exaggerated drawing.

Rough color comp of a new project.  The subject was supposed to be about perception vs. reality and the like.  This kind of turned out more like a dream, but dreams are kind of like that so I guess it works.  the drawings were all done by hand, scanned into photoshop, and color and patterns added.  Final version soon to come.

Two Popular music portraits.   My favorite female pop star died recently so it seemed fitting to do her portrait, so here I give you Whitney Houston.  Below we have Dionne Warwick.  Famous in the 1960's mostly for singing Bacharach tunes.  Plus these women are cousins so it just made sense to do each of their portraits.

Two Lino prints that I did today.  First one is my favorite bird, the Great Blue Heron.  The second is from a drawing I did in my sketch book last year, now converted to print!  Exciting!  I haven't done any linoleum printing since I was in High school so this is a nice shift.

A piece I did for my digital painting class, done using Photoshop.  Kind of inspired by Mucha.  This is actually still a work in progress.  I hope to add more and refine it a bit.

I'm taking a digital painting class and the first assignment was for us to play with texture and brushes and recreate and old master painting.  I chose one by Ingres.  The one on the left is the original.

Lovely Spanish guitar night this past Thursday at the Society.  The costumes were great and the music improved everything.

Comics I did as a final project for a Greek Mythology class I was taking. The first one is the story of Orpheus and the next 3 are based off the first part of the Oresteia.
