At the Museums

The MET and Brooklyn Museums each had fashion exhibits this summer and I took the opportunity to go a few times and draw some of the beautiful costumes on display. Today was my last drawing session of the exhibit at the MET (the one at the brooklyn museum closed already). I got two nice drawings from today which I haven't had a chance to scan yet. They'll be coming soon!
Both exhibitions were lovely, but if you didn't get a chance to go and see them hopefully these drawings will give you a small idea of the range of fashion eras on display.

Drawings From the Society

I did these drawings at the Society of Illustrators sketch nights (every tues. and thurs.) They're all done with charcoal and colored pastels. It's very nice to draw at society. They have live music too, which is usually good.

All Fashion

So I've decided just to upload all of the best fashion images I drew over the second half of the semester all at once. Most of these I did in my evening fashion drawing class. Most were 10 min. poses, which I worked on a bit after the pose was over. This is pretty much all I have left to show for the time being for fashion, so I hope you enjoy!

Pen & Ink

These next few images are some of the first life studies I've done using a Speedball pen and mid-toned ink (a little bit of brushwork on some too). I feel happy with the results. I like how I can see myself trying different techniques within the same medium. I'll definitely keep experimenting with it.
