The Grief of Orpheus.  Half traditional half digital illustration.  Eurydice has been bitten by a viper and has died.  Orpheus is overwhelmed with grief.  This was one of the fastest illustrations I've ever done.  Whew!

Progress.... though this scan is not so good, with lines going through the piece and all.  I'm not finished with this yet and plan to keep working on it.

Some progress on this piece.  I needed to start adding in some of the shapes and colors and start dealing with the background a little even though I am not done with the figures yet.  Next I have to start tackling those flowers.

I know it's election night but I made progress on this damnit!  It's coming along well so far.  Still has a long way to go but I'm feeling confident.

Progress on the egg tempera painting.  I'm doing a green grisaille over the skin of the two women so that a green undertone will show through the flesh tones I will add later.  I'm liking egg tempera a lot.  It feels a lot like drawing with pencil or pastel instead of painting.  It's really all about building up with layers, which I am all for.

Pencil sketch for a painting project I'm working on.  The final painting will be in egg tempera.  A brand new Media for me.  I'm liking it a lot already and I'll post progress on the painting soon.
